Hope Garrett's back to full speed. Facing some big boys in that scrimmage tonight.

Awesome.
Sounds like Garrett has/is working his butt off to get that kind of recognition.
Glad it's paying off. Hope you and him make this a fun year. It should be.
Even as an LSU die hard, I'd encourage my son to take every official, and enjoy every minute of it.
But, then I'd sit him down and tell him he has no choice and LSU is actually his only option
Kidding

Tell Garrett we are proud of him for the way he has been working. Louisiana folks take pride in the accomplishments of our own. Hope the rest of the University team has been in beast mode too and they have a great season.
Garrett is in a position 95% of the posters here wish for. Hope his experience with the recruiting process will be a pleasant one.
Tell Garrett he needs to quit trying to look so hard. He's got a great smile but pictures of him smiling are hard to find.
Even Mean Joe Green smiled in his Coke commercial.

Wow, we really destroyed last year's 3A state champs, and they supposedly returned 15 starters. Granted it was a scrimmage, but our 1st team versus theirs was ugly for them. Might be another good season.

Mr. Brumfield, are you related to the Brumfields in Amite/Roseland area?

Super nice kid and highly intelligent. I taught him at Scotlandville for a brief stint before he transferred to U-High.

U-High won 28-6. Brusly scored on U-high's third string team with 28 secs left to play. Brusly played hard, and no disrespect intended, but they where no match.

Sounds like a great way to start the season.
Going to the Bastrop vs. Ouachita and West Monroe vs Neville games tomorrow night. Hope it's not raining.
Did U-High get the running game rolling before the starters came out?
Did the 6'7" Thibodeaux kid play WR for Brusly?

quote:U-High was able to establish the running and passing game. The Thibodeaux kid played. He's not 6'7" though. MAYBE 6'5" at the most, and that's stretching it.

Took awhile to get the running game going. I think Wildman yelling at Garrett to get in gear (I'm paraphrasing ) helped motivate the line to get it going. Tough replacing 4 starters off the OL including two 1st team All District OT's. They should be ok, they don't have the benefit of having played together since Middle School the way our boys that graduated did. Until then, Nick is enough of a stud he doesn't need a huge hole to be off to the races. Brusly seemed to lose their snap at some point, and after that we had our way with them.
