I see and understand your point but I truly believe that GRRM really doesn't want the embarrassment of HBO catching up to him and having to either cancel the series or finish the story for him. He's too prideful for that.

And he knows this is HIS masterpiece. He wants to finish it, and I'm sure he is aware that he isn't a young man any more.

I feel sure HBO brought this up in their negotiations. You think he provided them with a bare bones outline of how its supposed to end?
