some guy posted a thread about how he works at UPS or something and fields came in and shipped all his crap back to wherever he was from (cali I think)
Few days later I think there was something officially unofficial posted about how he would not be coming back

Most people following the program pretty much assumed this when we didn't place him in a summer league and he shipped all of his stuff home.

He was processed immediately after our loss in the supers.

Did I miss where Jackson Slaid left? He's not on the roster either. I'm trying to figure out who else is missing from last year (that still had eligibility).
ETA: Michael Reed, Braden Strickland, and Aaron Johnson aren't there either.
I'm surprised about Johnson, he threw alright in his limited innings. I thought he should have thrown more.

Paul Mainieri ain't scared to cut a starter after half a season. That can't be good for recruiting.

Aaron Johnson was supposed to redshirt, but he complained to Coach Mainieri about redshirting and begged to play this season. So Coach Mainieri pitched 2 innings on the year...
Or so I've been told.

Ridiculous roster turnover year after year is one of the many issues I have with Mainieri.

Interesting. Fields was the 5ht leading hitter on his summer team that won the National Championship. He also led the team in walks and was 2nd in SB.

Watkins, not Fields....something seems to be common amongst them and it isn't that their black.

He did only throw 2 or 3 innings. I don't know what circumstances surrounded it, but he threw well in those outings and then never saw the field again.
So if that was done just to spite the kid because he complained about red shirting, my already low opinion of Mainieri sinks yet lower. Guys a chump.

That adds to my point. Mainieri cut Trey Watkins after he started for an entire season. Now he has cut Arby Fields after Arby started most of the last half of the season. Are you telling me that these guys couldn't even be quality back-ups? It's one thing to lose your starting postion, but Mainieri just flat out gives up on these guys and cuts them.
I can't see how that wouldn't hurt LSU in recruiting. Coach Cohen at Ms St can say, "Why would you go to LSU when if you struggle in your first year Coach Mainieri will cut you?"
Coach Mainieri sure does place a lot of blame on the player while the guy that recruited them and is in charge of coaching them escapes any blame. I'm looking at you Godson Sanchez.

I'm curious to see what happens with McCune this season... it looks like he got lit up in summer league.
