Baton Rouge: have any vinyl?

I picked up a record player this weekend and am looking to begin my collection. I'm looking for 60s and 70s rock, pop rock, folk, R & B.
Neil Young, Clapton, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, etc. If its collecting dust and you want to move it let me know and I'll throw some cash your way

Not my area of expertise but I do know The Honeymoon Bungalow on Government has a lot of old records. I couldn't tell you much about the quality or selection though.

I live a block away from there, they had pretty sparse selection but reasonable prices. I also went to a creepy adult store on Florida today and picked up some good finds. Between combing through these places and the local thrift stores I'm out of leads though

Atomic Pop (on Gov. by Radio Bar) has a decent collection. Urban Outfitters sells records, but not that many. Check out Atomic Pop though.

Looked there too, found a couple good LPs. She said they're having a pretty big sale in a few weeks, if you're into vinyl, heads up.

Craigslist pulled up a good amount of results

Nice. She tell you when?
It's too bad BR can't support a store like Waterloo or Mushroom.

I'm meeting with a guy tomorrow to look at some Beatles records ($5 a piece ) and some Bob Dylan. Craigslist has been very helpful.

I can't remember exactly. Like their facebook page and I'm sure they'll be posting about it as it gets closer.

I went to Aladdin's Lamp Antiques two or so years ago and they had a few boxes as well as a "buy/sell" type message board posted above the vinyl. Might be worth calling to see what they have before making the trip over there, but at the same time it's in the midcity area on Government near Honeymoon Bungalow and Time Warp Boutique, which may also both have vinyl as well.
And idk if The Compact Disc Store is still open or if they'd have vinyl, but they may be worth a phone call as well.
Another option is just taking a Saturday to drive to a couple thrift stories just to see what they have.

I'm not from anywhere near Baton Rouge, but flea markets are a good place to begin building a collection. A lot of the time, the people in the booths have no idea what they are selling. I can't count how many classic albums I've picked up for a buck. Many of them in pretty good condition. That's how I got my collection started with a bang.

eBay buy in lots by artist.
Atomic vinyl
Honeymoon bungalow but they are both expensive vs buying in lots from eBay
Thrift stores have a ton of gospel and Christmas music..
There are a ton of places In Nola. Best is prob mushroom
Beatles/Hendrix you are paying a shite ton for if you go to a record store.... So be patient on that
Check out discogs.com for approx value....
And don't overpay for tdsotm

I picked up a led zeppelin physical graffiti with insets for $3

Honeymoon Bungalo is WAY overpriced. I went there during the art walk and most of their new vinyl was $30+ each. It was marked up almost 100% of retail that you can either get online or at another record store. Seems like they are trying to capitalize on the fact that they are one of the few places to get vinyl in town.

Yeah, it can be a lot to plow through. I get pretty depressed at the idea that someone paid full price for some of that stuff at one point in time.

i didnt see new vinyl at honeymoon... do you mean atomic?
but yes both are expensive... you are basically paying for them to do the work in finding decent quality music....... My only problem with this method is you will never run across that $1.99 gem that is worth $300

Goodwill occasionally has some gems, but you have to sift through the complete shite that surrounds it
