No question about it. Last 20 years is since 1992. Alan Jackson is by far the best. Go back to 1982 and George Strait gives him a run for his money

This

80-90s George Strait > 90-00's Alan Jackson

I love Alan Jackson but it's not even close.

off the top of my head:

Amarillo By Morning
Ocean Front Property
All My Exes
Fool Hearted Memory
This is Where the Cowboy Rides Away
Marina Del Ray
Baby Blue
A Fire I Can't Put Out
Let's Fall to Pieces Together
Does Ft Worth Ever Cross Your Mind
Nobody in his right mind would've left her

it ain't close

The thing about both Jackson and Strait that pops out to me is that neither have that many hits where they sing with great passion(can't think of many off the top of my head), not like G. Brooks, Tritt, or R. Dunn.

Here's Jackson covering Alabama:

One of the best country songs ever. Probably one of my top 3 if not higher. That still doesn't change my opinion that, overall, Jackson has produced a higher percentage of quality music.
