I don't think it's fair to blame then for Rascl Flatts or similar stuff.
Treat Her Right, Feels So Right, Lady Down On Love, Close Enough For Perfect and My Home's In Alabama are classic hits.
But is this about singers or their hits or both? Because if it's just about singing, you can put Doug Stone and John Anderson in the fray. But I'm always inclined to folk who can hit the love songs the best. The sad slow/low tempo songs that make you want to drink and feel sorry for yourself and profess your love to the woman you've always wanted to be with.
