I never said anything about being good. I said his size is big enough to play center in the NBA, which it is. Height is only part of the equation. There is wingspan, jumping ability, weight, girth, etc.

Johnny has issues with his game, but size is not one of them.

I think it's more mentality than anything else. Ben Wallace was "small", but he had that mentality.

And most college teams don't have a center anyway. Who was our center for the final four team? It was Baby down low and Tyrus up top.

Yes, O'Bryant and Godfrey down low is far from small. The issue is depth, but that is not a small front line.

We can adjust our offense to fit our players. It sure would be nice to have another big body, but we can survive without one. Between O'Bryant and Godfrey we'll have a solid frontcourt. Ludwig and Courtney will have to fill in down low and some of our wings will have to play the 4 from time to time.

Missouri was 30-5 last year and won the Big 12 with 4 guards and a 6'8" post player starting.

Trent asked Ludwig to cut weight to become lighter on his feet to play more on the wing last year. I am sure Johnny has asked him to put it back on. A lot of times you just need your backups for 5 fouls. A good coach can make due with guys like Ludwig and Courtney for a year. Its not ideal, but its doable.

You missed the "a bit shorter than 7 foot" part. For instance O'Bryant is 6'9. 6'11 is still basically 7 feet.

Howard is all of 6'11.
Davis is not a NBA center, he's a PF.
Horford is 6'10.
Monroe is 6'11.

So you listed 1 guy who is 2" shorter in Horford (not really a "bit" shorter than 7 feet...but if 2" is the best you have, then I guess that kind of proves my point).

The difference in height is not important, if the shorter player has a longer wingspan and/or jumps higher.

There are plenty of 6-9/6-10 players who play bigger than some 7-footers because of long arms, strength and leaping ability.
