A while back someone posted pictures from a group of military helicopters that were flying over TS during the off season. Does anyone have those saved or remember who posted them? TIA

Maybe thhas been discussed but two things. First, does TS grass turn brown and die in the off season and second, why isnt the field numbered in LSU's traditional way? Every five yards.

I dunno. Maybe some deranged evil individual photoshopped them? :)

They let it die during the Winter months

That picture was after the spring game, they usually "dumb" down the stadium for that. ie. don't fill the endzones in with paint.
Not sure about the grass, because that picture has to be between April and August and that is usually when grass looks the best.

I believe I remember someone saying they put some chemical on the turf to kill it so they could put a different type of grass.
On a side note, my uncle was the pilot of the helicopter that took those pictures. I used to have a lot more of the pictures but they were on an old computer. The helicopters were flying to a ceremony after completing their training before being shipped out to Iraq.

That was taken Spring 08 after the national championship season. Notice the logo. Also they spray the field to kill out the ryegrass so the Bermuda can grow without competition.

lsu should start a new trend to represent south louisiana by using st aug grass as turf. obviously, that wouldn't work, but it sure would look good at the beginning of the season.

thanks beejon......great pictures and thank you to the men and women who put themselves in harm's way so we can enjoy gifts like 'game day' Baton Rouge.
