As mentioned by others, to experience Louisiana cuisine try Chimes, Parrains, and Sammy's Bar and Grill. Mike Anderson isn't too bad either. If you got some cash to spend go to Juban's.

Want good Mexican food and don't mind the drive, head up to Airline highway to LaFondas. Oldest Mexican joint in BR with great margaritas and the only one with all fresh food...nothing frozen except the margaritas.
