This is what happens when you build false idols.
I'm fairly certain that this is not the first time Ole Joe had a hand in making things go away. I doubt any other cover-up was as horrible, but knowing that he was willing to cover-up for a child rapist, I'm not sure I'd put anything past him.... or the university.
