Just b/c it was 1AA doesn't mean it didn't happen. How many did Tech win in 1AA? If it wasn't for womens basketball and the "God Particle" people wouldn't even know about Tech.

I was answering the question you asked. You didn't give a timeframe.
And saying their relevance was only due to being in 1AA is invalid for two reason. That was Tech's first year in 1A. Previous to 1987, Tech and ULM were both 1AA.
Second, in 1987 ULM beat LaTech 44-7. 1AA over 1A.

I'm not a ULM or Tech fan but to make Tech out to be a world beater b/c they went to a few bowl games is crazy. Tech played a great game against TCU but a loss is a loss. I know it was a close one but it's not like Tech went home with half of the trophy. Hell, next to LSU and Tulane the next in line as far as recognition goes is Grambling IMO.
