Fished coon point a little this morning. Didn't have a trolling motor but still caught some. Left em biting because they were just a bunch of smaller trout.

Had a few cocahoes on us. Caught most of our trout at the island on artificials. Went to ship shoal 26 and 28 and caught some really nice trout.

We didn't slam them today by any means but the trout in ship shoal were averaging 21 inches.

Went out today again and caught quite a bit right at the mouth of turtle bayou. Had shrimp and croakers. We caught 4 over 3 pounds on the croakers. Big bait, big fish, I guess. Might run out to the pickets or blue point in the am.

I wouldn't run to bluepoint. Spanish mackerel and blue fish everywhere. Ship shoal light and all the rigs between it are better imo. Plus lemonfish frequent these rigs.

If I have to buy live bait I usually have someone run to bait house and cut across to dularge while I launch the boat.

Ship shoal light is 7 miles straight south of coon point. If you launch from dulac go through whiskey pass and head southwest. It's a big arse light house. Holds huge trout and cobia.

Going to have and try and hit that up next time, we headed start west from the bait boat in Caillou Bay. How far of a run is it from the bait boat?

Like 10 miles from the bait boat. Closer than mardi gras rigs and ship shoal 58. Somewhere around here. All the rigs between the bait boat and the light will produce fish as well.

Yea we were hitting up all the satellite wells around a couple of the platforms and were tearing them up till the tide quit.

Any structure in the ship shoal relies very heavily on the tide I find. More so than most places but damn I love that area.

I think that the tide charts are off, 3-4 hours after it was charted to start moving again it was still dead.

Yea we had this problem thursday. Couldn't get out very early because of a thunderstorm in sister lake. Once we got out there we only had about 2 hours of tide.
