I'm just gonna take this post and copy it over to the arsenal thread and quote it after every game alright?

Did I say Walcott in January, and Huntelaar in June? Well, I really meant Huntelaar in January and Walcott in June.

Good, if you all get Huntelaar I'd think we almost definitely keep Walcott.

Yeah I'm not sure why this would be the case. I think we end up with both, especially when we get someone to kidnap Joe Cole and Stew-pot.

Because Walcott's primary reason for wanting to move is to be THE center forward? Which if Huntelaar was there would clearly be him I'd think..

Huntelaar is also 29..
It will be one of 3 reasons why LFC don't get Walcott:
1. Arsenal decides to give him what he wants: higher wages, CF
2. LFC can't afford (or choose not to) his transfer fee or wages
3. He wants to go to a current CL club
He will get plenty of time at CF at Liverpool, I assure you that (with or without Huntelaar)

If we match his wages and you all get Huntelaar I give it maybe a 5% chance of him leaving.

Huntelaar is very versatile also. He's played on both wings during his career. I think the two of them could co-exist pretty easily.

I'd take those odds.

What is that based on? Why would you even begin to assume Arsenal are considering matching his wages based on what you've seen lately? Wenger is intentionally holding him out of the XI and starting RAMSEY in his place at RW.

Ramsey started yesterday due to Walcott playing 120 minutes midweek. Midweek was also his first start coming back from the chest injury (he subbed in last week I believe). I'd be shocked if he doesn't start more going forward.
Of course I'm seeing it from the gooner point of view which means it's probably a little bit off from what really is, but the same is probably true from the anfield point of view.

120 minutes in a League Cup match..that shows where he stands in the Arsenal team. You know who else played in that match? fricking Chamakh and Arshavin.
WHen was the last time he started a league match?

Yup. And Rodgers' dream is a front 3 which can play any of those positions. Suarez, Huntelaar and Walcott would be able to do that nicely. The fluidity and replacement of one with the other would be seamless.

1) he was coming back from an injury, it's a good place to play a player that's coming back.
2) he was obviously in a contract dispute and still is - as soon as they're done with that he's in the starting 11 without a doubt IMO.

If there was any doubt of his health, they would have subbed him off after x amount of minutes. The fact they let him go for 120 minutes shows there was no doubt over his fitness level.
When you play Man Utd, you play your best players, contract issues or not. Wenger decided not to, for whatever reason (and fitness level is not a good excuse) and Arsenal paid for it.
He may come to a contract agreement with Arsenal. I am just skeptical based on what I've seen so far. Seems to me they would have taken care of this in the summer if they had any intent in keeping him. Not re-signing him, not playing him where he wants to be played AND using him as a sub for the first half of the season, only to re-sign him in January just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Finished my dvr of yesterdays game late last night.
Anyone else becoming frustrated with our controlling the Match but not being able to pick up three points?
It's fun to watch and bodes well for the future, but very frustrating at the final whistle.
