It started this and am I right in seeing my F1 skill changes? Like during battle? I had steal, then I had some type of electric mace...?!?!? Lol. I'd love to play more but the baby has a fever and I gotta be a fricking responsible dad.... Might see y'all online.

"Steal" borrows a special attack from
the enemy you are fighting.
the enemy you are fighting.

I know this isn't exactly on topic but..
I really want to play this game but have never played a MMO. I've always been a RPG player, BG, NWN 1 & 2, Elder Scrolls and such, all on PC, never had a console.
I have watched a ton of live play and uploaded stuff of GW2 and it looks like I've got the fever.
Question is, is this game one of those with a steep learning curve or can this old grey beard (I'm 54) play along and not look bad stupid?
Also, I would like to play with folks that I somewhat "know" so could I join up with your server and get into the guild thing? Keep in mind I have never done a PVP or WVW or CO-OP. I know what they are but that's as far as it goes.
I like killing things that need killing and enjoy the crafting side of games as well, would that kind of player be of use? I don't mean to invite myself, that seems kind of shitty, so if you don't have the interest or room that's not a problem.

If you like questing and crafting there is plenty of that I promise.
its really a lot of fun, even without the pvp.
There is a learning curve but it wouldn't be a barrier to entry..think "easy to learn, difficult to master"

Yeah, I can handle that part, as long as I can dog cuss hard enemies because..they need a good cussing.

One very cool thing, at least from my experiences in the lower levels..
An "event" will start and everyone nearby is notified... Look on your map to see the event (something like escort so and so to someplace)
when the escort reaches the end, you get quest credit, then a new event starts right behind it..with tougher enemies.
Then a boss can spawn , but since 40 or so people have been attracted to the area, the boss is killable and everyone gets loot/xp/coin...even if uve done the event before
The questing and progression flows very nicely

MC invite sent.
Wood, you are most welcome to join us. You won't be the only older guy in the guild, I am almost 44.

Yes, that is the impression I get from watching the live play and videos, which is why this is the first MMO I have ever had any interest in playing.

Your single player games are a lot like mine I think you will like it, you will certainly get as much play time out of it as you would a regular game, imo. There is not monthly fee and it's a game that will always be changing.

no monthly fee is frickin awesome
im interested in seeing how big of a population hit there is when WoW Pandas releases

Many thanks.
I will pick it up in the morning and get the ball rolling if no one objects.
I've noticed that from your posts, which is partly the reason I want to play this game.
I'm a lurker for the most part on TD but that may change on the Gaming Board, at least where GW2 is concerned...just don't expect a go vols from me unless you pull my arse out of a fire.

I've been thinking about getting this game. I've been watching videos for a few days and it looks pretty fun. The no monthly fee is definitely a great selling point, as I wouldn't even consider it with a monthly fee.
Should I take the dive, it would be nIce to play with other people, and I would definitely like to join a guild made of tigerdroppings members. So basically, what I'm trying to say is can hang with yous guys?

Again, Thank you very much.
I'll be playing a Norn warrior, closest thing to a Nord from what I can see, but I'll do a bunch of crafting, weapons and armor mostly.
So I suppose I will need to figure out how to get the stuff into the hands of fellow TD members hands asap.. so much to learn.

Have fun in that starting zone, it might be one of the most annoying zones there are (rabbits, trading, snowball fights, you'll see what I mean)
