Never used senkos so I'm going pick some up this evening. What colors should I start with?

Green white.
Bubble gum
Pumpkin
ETA: cabelas has their own brand w O rings in the mold for wacky rig.
Zero and UV make a type also.
Senko makes a kit for $25 that has lots of colors and stuff. I recommend it.

I buy the Big Bite Baits from Academy. Twice as many in the pack and half the cost. They hold up as well, if not better, and I've had just as much success.
Watermelon Red.

Green Pumpkin
Watermelon & black
Watermelon & red
I've always thrown it to a spot, let it fall, and let it sit for 30 sec or so max. If nothing, I twitch it a little and let it sit again. If nothing, I reel it back. I don't work it all the way back to the boat.

Good colors named so far...
I would add watermelon gold, and mardi gras.

Ok cool thanks.
My next question was what's the best way to use senkos.

I like wacky rigging my big bite worms and letting them fall. then work a little and let fall. They have this flutter motion when they're falling that seems to work for me.
the OP in the WRT is my results from this on Saturday, yeah I know, they're not monsters.

I used to have my own bait business and the top 3 selling colors around here were:
1. Watermelon/Red
2. Junebug or Junebug/Red
3. Green Pumpkin

When you wacky rig yours do you do it weightless? I know you are supposed to but I've seen people have a bullet weight on there.

I use a weighted hook by gamakatsu

I like to rig them with a Mr. Blitz 1/8 oz weighted hook for deeper water or with a 4/0 EWG Gamakatzu hook. Both on 12 lb line. Both set ups let the bait wobble side to side slightly as if it is a dying shad falling through the water column. Cast out let it sink to bottom and sit for 10-15 sec then lift 1-2 feet and repeat the process.
