gotta keep them honest. The only way to strike that fear is to have some added power in the lineup. (extra basehit power, not necessarily HR power)
This lineup didn't have that for two reasons.
1. For some reason LSU has forgotten that the state of TX exists. (Furniss, Hawpe, Larson, Stavinoha, Patterson, etc.) So, we are recruiting marginal guys locally like Moore. Our recruiting on the offensive side of things is terrible. (tl:dr--recruit hitters from TX because our S. LA boys tend to be short and small)

I do not under why we have such anemic batting, especially in the power department. LSU should still be able to go around 80-90 HR's a year if we recruited for the power. There were 120 players as of yesterday who had 10+ HR's, and a lot of them were from major baseball conferences such as the SEC(look at UF). If we actually recruited the big boys we could still see the Gorilla ball in Alex Box.
