If you will be in the Slidell area today (June 12th) and are looking for place to eat, please consider helping out the Scott family by going to Peck's Seafood(or passing this information along to friends and family in the area). You can read Amber's story and the fundraising information below.
Amber Rabalais Scott is a 29 year old mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend to so many people. On May 22, at 38 weeks pregnant, her husband Tommy arrived home from work to find her unresponsive. She was rushed to Slidell Memorial where she delivered by Csection a beautiful, healthy, 6.5# baby girl, Adeline Elizabeth. She was then operated on to remove a blood clot from her brain. On May 24, still not having seen her daughter, she was transferred to West Jefferson Medical Center for more tests. The doctors there removed a portion of her skull to allow for swelling of her brain due to fluid. She is now in ICU fighting to get home to her new baby girl.
June 12th-Peck's Seafood and Poboys of Slidell is hosting a fundraiser from 11am-8pm on all dine-in and take-out orders. Matt Pecoraro, has agreed to donate 30% of all sales to Amber's fund. Also, an original painting by local artist Phil Galatas will be on display and raffled off. Tickets are $5/chance.
You can follow the story on facebook by liking "Amber's Prayer Team". Amber is truly a wonderful person and her and her family need lots of thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Thanks for reading!
ETA:
Raffles for today's fundraiser so far: 3 pairs of tickets to Colbie Caillat and Gavin Degraw concert June 21st along with a meet & greet, original Phil Galatus painting, Creative Cookie of Slidell gift certificate, 4 person swamp tour, gift certificate from Thatz A Wrap, gift basket from Bella Style Salon, Berry Tart gift certificate, Salles Jewelry gift certificate, gift certificate from For Our Girls (children wear), signed Swamp People hat and shirt! Lots of good things! Don't forget $5 dollars for 1 ticket or $25 dollars for 6 tickets!

Don't know Amber but pray she recovers.
And I'll put in a plug for Pecks. Very good food (usually get the Yellow-Fin and sweet potato fries) and some of the largets portions I've ever been served.

I'm in Slidell a lot but won't be able to make it there (taking summer classes at LSU/in BR Monday-Friday mornings). Will make sure to tell my boyfriend and his relatives about it who live in Slidell.
Peck's has good po-boys .
I hope she has a speedy recovery. Keeping her in my thoughts!

Thanks for posting TigerGirl and thanks for the well wishes. Just wanted to note that Amber is 2004 LSU grad!!! The support and prayers have been tremendous and I know that tomorrow will be the same. I got to spend time with her and her family this weekend and they are so thankful for all of the community support. She is an amazing person and will come back even stronger. Everyone eat up tomorrow!

Bump...if you're in the Slidell area today, please consider helping out this awesome family. And from what I hear, you'll get to eat great food in the process!
I also edited my original post to include information on items being raffled off at the fundraiser. Thanks!
