Pay raises

quote:

Chavis, who had one of the best defenses in the nation the past two seasons, went from $700,000 a year to $900,000 a year for this season.

Deserves every penny, IMO

quote:

"Frank Wilson is another one who had one of the biggest jumps in pay," said Alleva, who makes $725,000 a year. "He is one of the best recruiters in the country."

Deserves every penny, IMO.

quote:

Yet Miles, the man responsible for all the wins and for hiring all these high-priced coaches, will continue on into his fifth consecutive season without a raise.

quote:

"We did restructure his contract last year," Alleva said. "... He still is the fourth- or fifth-highest paid coach in the country."

Les deserves to be the 14-20th highest paid coach in the nation, IMO.

$725k is quite a lot for a position coach is it not?

The article is saying that it is Alleva who makes $725k, not Wilson. FW will make $550k this year.

From Forbes:

"4. Louisiana State University Tigers

Current Value: $96 million
Two-Year Change in Value: 12%
Football Profit: $47 million
Conference: SEC
Head Coach: Les Miles

The local economic impact of LSU's home games has helped secure their place as the SEC's most valuable team. The Tigers generated $8.5 million in local spending for each of their seven home games."

Horndog is and always has been a Bama fan. Don't let him fool you. He is just trying to push buttons this morning. Take it from someone who likes to push buttons.

I wouldn't put much credence in any article The News Star puts out. They are the worst news organization this side of Al-Jazeera.
