Take this with a grain of salt but from what I have read Elmer T Lee is the same juice as Blanton's which gets rave reviews around here. Not to say that they are aged the exact same way and definitely not the same durations but they start there life as the same white dog. I love Elmer T Lee and dont like Blanton's.

As for the Jefferson the same principle applies from what I've read to it and Pappy Van Winkle, they start as the same juice. But there has also been discussions on line that say that they are actually barreled in the same warehouses. If that is true Jefferson is a steal at 90 dollars versus 150 and up for PVW of the same age.

There are a lot of bourbons that are sisters of other bourbons on the market. The large producers in an attempt to hedge some risk will sell some of their stock to small distributors who just bottle and market the bourbon.

They do both come from the same mash bill (Mash Bill #2) at Buffalo Trace Distillery. Rock Hill Farms is also made from that same mash bill. Although there are no official age statements, many think that Elmer T Lee is one of the younger age ones and the Blanton's is in the middle and Rock Hill Farms being the older of them. All three are great bourbons in my opinion.

There's some controversy on this one, but we do know that the barrels from which Jefferson Presidential Select come actually were bought in the early 90s from the Stitzl-Weller distillery when it closed. This was the distillery that produced PVW. There's no indication whether it was from the mash bill that produces the 15, 20, 23 or from some of their other stock. What I do know is that it's a great bourbon at the price.
