Im really liking me some R.A. right now especially with his ridiculous K rate. Yall think he keeps this up? I for one am not going to sell high and see how far he will take me. Its looking like a cy young season for the knuckleballer.

He's a knuckleballer, so you're gonna have to put up with the occasional WTF, 2 ip, 9 ER hammerings he may take when that knuckle just floats for hitters, but may be worth it because he's piecing together a really nice season thus far.

He has had a 2.97 ERA in 464 innings over the last 3 years so I'd have to say he is pretty legit.
I can't see a 37 year old improving his K rate by 3 Ks per 9. But at the same time I wouldn't have thought a 35 year old could totally reinvent.
There really isn't anyone to compare him to. I went look at his pitch f/x the other night after I saw him throw a 80+ MPH knuckleball. His average knuckleball velocity is 77 MPH which is crazy compared to recent knuckleballers (Wakefield - 66 and Haeger 70). His average knuckleball is .6 MPH slower than Jamie Moyer's fastball. His knuckleball velocity has increased in each of the last 5 seasons while his fastball velocity has gone down 3 MPH. Truly one of a kind.
