Why doesn't Steve Perry sing anymore?

He doesn't have to have the band. He has such a great voice. I don't know why he disappeared. I just watched some asian sing with the band Journey, WTF?

My guess would be that he just can't hit those high notes he used to hit so flawlessly anymore
