At least we have homegrown Louisiana talent Landon Collins as heir apparent in the defensive backfield. Oh, wait...
Nice troll attempt but Collins isn't even a corner.
And don't believe the nonsense about his 'sister' saying he's going to tcu.
Nobody knows at this point and if the staff is letting him go then maybe he's not as big of a loss as u think. There's a lot of highly ranked high school players that don't pan out and there's a lot of mo claiborne types that are simply better than their more highly touted teammates. Trust the defensive coaches.

I am well aware that Landon Collins isn't a corner. That's specifically why I used the term "defensive backfield," which of course includes safeties. And yes, it is still irksome that the number one (and two and three and four) ranked players in Louisiana went elsewhere. Let's not pretend that's somehow advantageous to LSU.
In any event, back to Jenkins. I am not certain why you claim that we should "trust the defensive coaches." First of all, the LSU staff recruited Jenkins a mere two years ago. Presumably, they thought he was promising enough to warrant a full scholarship. Second of all, there is no actual evidence that the LSU defensive coaches want Jenkins to leave or that they have encouraged him to leave or that they are satisfied with his departure. For all we know, they could be petitioning him to stay on the team or return to the team, whatever the case may be. Finally, I reflexively dismiss any arguments that are premised on the erroneous notion of coaches' infallibility.
If it should come to pass (and isn't just an internet rumor), there is no way to spin Jenkin's defection as a positive for the LSU football team. It's never good to lose very talented young players, especially at a position where - frankly - we don't have a great deal of depth, given the loss of Claiborne, Brooks, and Vinson.
