Oregon State/Vandy Super Regional 2011

Here are some pictures I took of the two games Vandy played against Oregon State in the Super Regional here in Nashville last year. Notice how their 3rd baseman gets air each time the pitcher throws the ball. I asked him about that and he smiled and said it's just something he does. I've never noticed a player doing that before. Vandy shut them down both games last year to advance to their first ever CWS. The Beavers were good but did could not do much against Vandy pitching. There was a nice crowd from Oregon, really nice fans.

The Beaver fans were great in BR back in 2004 when we played them in football.

I've seen other 3B do it before. Not too unusual. Tennis players do it a lot before receiving a serve.

Could it possibly be worse? Looked like the apocolypse - that was some homefield advantage right there.

The biggest problem was on the INT return in the first quarter - our lighting fast safety got sucked in by the mud as if he were in the Fire Swamp.

I took more pictures of Bell than anyone trying to get him caught up in the air. I was definitely curious to see if he did it only every play and he does! Every Play!!!

The rain delay in Oregon State/LSU game in '04 was incredible. It rained so hard and so fast the field flooded. I remember a streaker from the student section ran on the field and these over weight security guards were trying to run and tackle him down. They kept missing him, it was hilarious. That was one if the heaviest down pours I've ever seen.
