Crossfire is AMD terminology for multiple video cards and SLI is Nvidia

The video card or cards he decides on should decide the power supply.
As long as the cards don't draw more amps on the 12v rail than the PSU can output he should be ok.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SLI is for nvidia and Crossfire is for amd/ati
