This isn't about being perfect. This about being an ELITE coach. Don't talk about successes and not expect being reminded of the failures. In the '11 NCG, if CLM would have just had a gameplan that would have allowed them to compete, then I'd have a glass of KoolAid right now. Oh yeah, I almost forgot... Also in '05, '06', '07, '08, '09 and '10. With that, it makes me wonder just how much is he really going to let Met QB this team.

What are the names of these "elite coaches" who never lose or make bad decisions? Saban? nope. Stoops? Nope. Spurrier? Absolutely not (even though I like him).

On a different note, I actually think Miles should get more credit for his coaching over the last 4 years than he has. We have had below average qb play (yes....with Lee as well as JJ), yet we have contended for, and won, championships. That is incredible.

Look at other schools who have had to play with below average qbs? Stoops/OU without Bradford? Collapse. Brown/UT post Young/McCoy? Terrible. Auburn post-Newton? Terrible. You get the point.

Ok. I'm not comparing CLM to other coaches. His body of work speaks for itself, good and bad. If you are giving credit give it to the DC's. Yes CLM hired them. As well as the rest of the staff, even the unsuccessful ones.

The QB situation is entirely on CLM. He recruited them.

What point? That all of those schools mentioned have average defenses? Any of them SEC caliber? Absolutely not. Bring up a comparable team and make your point.

I like Spurrier also. Saban as well. But Stoops is in the same class as Carrol.
