I read the first book and am watching the second season on HBO.
I want to pick up reading where the second season on HBO ends....what book do I start back with....the third one?

300 pages in and this is so true. I just read a Dany section that I thought was amazing and it was completely brushed over by the show.

Was I the only one who felt that the writers wasted a lot of time (that could have been better spent on political and war developments) with Jon Snow chasing and then sleeping with that wildling girl?

Because my eyes aren't what they used to be, I elected to get the audio books of the last 4 books. They were awesome. The second season deviates substantially from the books but is still highly entertaining to watch. I went ahead and bought the first season also in audio and will eventually get around to listening to it in the lull between the 5th and future books.
I had never listened to an audio book before and Doltrice does a great job of using inflections and different voices to keep you interested and mentally on scene.
