It's not really a wasteland, for soccer anyway.
Yeah, it gets no coverage in the West, but the Russian league is no joke. And he's probably going to be making a shite ton of money.

Excited over a Europa League spot? Odd.
We should actually be able to get second in the group. 3rd might actually be better for the club/players because we don't have the horses to go far in the UCL. We can, however, do pretty well in Europa. A nice run probably lets us sell Wanyama next season for 12+ mill. It also gives the club financial help, helps the coefficient, and gives the younger guys (McGeough, Watt, Twardzik, etc.) European experience.

FC Porto signed Hulk, Falcao, and Lisandro Lopez for €11.73m euros and sold them for €114m. That explains their €900M profit last 11 years

Supposedly it's
Hulk 50M
AND
Axel Witsel 40M

What nation does he hail from? Sounds Nordic or something
Posted on 9/3/12 at 6:12 pm to Tweezy
Flemish name. Belgium, by way of the Caribbean/West Indies (Martinique).

Was Meireles really bad at Chelsea?
I am really surprised we were able to get him. ALways enjoyed the way he played for the Portugal NT. If only we had kept Zeigler at left back instead of forcing the redundant Krasic transfer (or just sold Stoch to make room for Krasic, while keeping Ziegler), this would have been a really solid team.

He wasn't necessarily bad. Once AVB left, there really wasn't a place for him in the squad. That said, he certainly wasn't good either. He put in a few good shifts, but would have no impact on the matches he played in.

Yeah, AVB wanted him. His signing came from nowhere. He was more meh than bad, but he really didn't have a spot with the squad anymore. It is also going to allow us to play some younger guys.

or just sold Stoch
I like Stoch, he scores a lot for a winger... I though Rodgers may go after him due to their time together in the CFC youth set up...

I like Stoch, too. He is good enough to be at least a rotation player on any team in the world besides City, United, Barca, and Real. He is tiny but doesn't get hurt a lot, and as you said, he is a solid scorer. He's also only 22, which I think people forget since he has been around for a while. I guess his stock falls a little bit since he looks like a Neo Nazi version of Ryan Gosling though
Still, with the Krasic trasnfer, we now have 2 guys who are basically the exact same player and have very comparable levels of talent. Considering we had to let go of a borderline world-class left back who was only 26 and really enjoyed his time at the club, I'd rather have Reto Ziegler on board with just Krasic or Stoch rather than Krasic or Stoch starting, the other guy coming off the bench in the 60th minute, and our left back being no better than Heath Pearce.
So please, Brendan Rogers, if you are reading Tiger Droppings at 3:30 in the morning, place a 10-12 million pound bid on Stoch. Everyone will be happy in that scenario.
