My Morning Jacket at Jazz Fest was disappointing

I was disappointed. Volume was way low, as was the song selection.
Anyone else within earshot?

I thought it was a great show. MMJ + horns is a great combination. The closing segment of Off the Record->Holdin on to Black Metal->One Big Holiday was fantastic. Yeah- they keep improv at the minimum for a guitar-based "jam band" but they do it good.

That was the highlight to me mon, but besides that, nothing spectacular.

We left after the forth song and caught the Eagles who put on a better show

MMJ opening with Victory Dance was legit. I thought they put on a great show. There were a few songs that I wish they had played but I still thought the selection was solid.
I was disappointed in the crowd overall but that's what you get with big festivals. If you ever have a chance to see a Jacket show with thousands of other Jacket fans you'll be blown away. Jim James is a badass.

Exactly. Festival sets are festival sets. Well tonight actually benefited from having the brass section (was it Preservation Hall Jazz Band? I know that one drummer was). That's something unique that every MMJ show doesn't have.

The one thing I hated about The Dude

Yes it was Preservation brass up there with them. We were fairly close and I thought it was a good show. saw a friend afterwards who said he was up front and his face melted off. He may or may not have been on drugs though

Yeah 2 hours of music that was nothing but hits. Your Parents probably did it to Desperado

Watched the live feed. Jim James seemed to be tripping his arse off. Kept commenting on all the pretty people and colors.
Crowd was very subdued.
