Cold Sweat
I've got a frickin' kick arse Italian 5 disc collection of his career highlights.
I've been gettin' in to that early stuff of his which was kind of commercial/'Pat Booney' cookie cutter type stuff (I don't think he was even 20 yet). He was quite the crooner too. Not perfect by any means, but he had personality, that's for sure. The most famous is 'Try Me'.

Some of the tightest, funkiest music ever recorded.
If you don't have "Live at the Apollo" get it immediately.
My wife and I saw him in The Blue Room at what was then The Fairmont. Saw Tina Turner there when she first made her comeback with a rocking band. Both were fantastic shows in a small venue.

you know how i know Billboard is a joke?
Fact:
17 number one hits on the R & B chart during his illustrious career,
James Brown never had a number one hit on the Billboard Pop charts.
In fact, the closet he ever came to doing so was in 1965, with the song "I Got You (I Feel Good)".

if you're not a fan of JB then you're not a music fan. Even if his style/genre isn't your thang it's impossible to miss the talent and impact he had.
I worked at a place that for at least 5-10 years on the last day of the work week, for the last half hour of the day, we would always blast JB

Some of my personal favorite James Brown tracks
My Thang Underrated track with James getting relentless on the funk
Doing It To Death A showcase for the JBs, who actually took the main billing on this track.
Give It Up Or Turn It Loose (In the Jungle Groove Remix)
I Feel Good - This track, probably James Brown's most famous, features some of my favorite seconds in music history EVER with Maceo Parker's trademark alto sax solo. I could literally listen to that solo all day on repeat.
Could post songs all day. James Brown is one of the greatest artists of ALL time.
