Durbin got off to a shitty start, he has been solid his last 9 outings
More like he's had 7 solid performances mixed in with two crappy ones. Giving up 3 base runners against the Mets isn't solid, and he got smacked around versus the Pirates. His ERA over the past week is 4.91. You can't just cherry pick outings, anyone looks good if you take out their worst 3-4 outings.
The fact is Durbin has been a very bad pitcher over his career (a 5.12 career ERA in almost 800 IP doesn;t happen by accident), and his poor results this year are just more of the same. Even the worst pitchers are going to have strings of decent outings every now and then. Durbin is just like Proctor last year, a crappy reliever that shouldn't be on the roster. Fredi's using him too much is just stupid, Durbin should be a second mop up guy/last guy out of the bullpen.

Right. He is what he is. This isn't a guy who has been crap for 2 or 3 years and might have just had the light come on or something. He has been in the majors for over a decade and has been the very definition of a below average pitcher during that time. The fact that he is on pace to pitch 60 innings out of one of the best bullpens in the league is ridiculous.
