New Orleans Pistols
doubt it would work because of the firearms connotations, but i'd support it.

I like Pistols too. I don't think it'd fly though.
I actually like Reapers, Demons, etc. Play the opposite of the Saints.

But not Spirits?

Why does it have to have anything to do with the Saints? Because Benson owns both?

New Orleans Steam
(Mascot: Badass steamboat)
You could also play with the "team" in steam in the marketing

The best way to make it clear it's Pistols and not pistols would be to do an NBA style logo with a Maravich silhouette. Would probably be too similar to the NBA logo for them to like it.

Why not just the Saints?
ETA: The New Orleans Basketball Saints. Like the New York Football Giants. No?

Because we can never stay on and are incredibly unreliable?

I was going to suggest the New Orleans Gambits but then I read the definition:
quote:
A gambit (from ancient Italian gambetto, meaning tripping) is a chess opening in which a player, most often White, sacrifices material, usually a pawn, with the hope of achieving a resulting advantageous position.

This fits the Hornets perfectly

If the Hornets were a weightlifting team, we would definitely need to call them the New Orleans Armstrong. But unfortunately they are not a weightlifting team.

Season ticket holders for the New Orleans Entergy would get their bills (for their tickets) and be like, "wtf?? why is it so high??"

That sounds a lot like tanking to me.
