Another notable meeting between the schools came at the 1985 NCAA Central Regional in Austin, Texas when the Cardinals eliminated the Tigers from the regional with a 4-3 victory.

Not sure what the "controversy" was, but seems like when the Lamar and Texas played in the NCAA's in either 1984 or 1985 there was some call/play that Lamar screamed about and was mentioned for years in the rare NCAA baseball telecasts off and on.

Dennis Dresdan, catcher for Lamar, clearly tagged out Texas 2b Bill Bates, but Longhorns got the call. I used to work with Dennis.
