Going fish Lake Verret this weekend with some buddies. Just seeing if the fish were biting. Not looking for secret spots or anything just trying to see what to expect out there

Gonna be tough. Weather is supposed to suck. Bring nightcrawlers and try the catfish on the edge of the lake.

Crickets for bream. Also caught some cats on crickets Easter weekend as well.

worms on an orange jig head. We caught catfish, white perch, and some BIG arse bream few weeks ago.

When we were catching bream, big bream, they were biting crickets, jigs and any combination of colors of regular skirted jigs, triple tails, and adding on crickets or crappie nibbles that you could make. Crickets seemed to help slightly though.

Nice. I fish out of bayou tranquile. My Mother-in-laws neighbor drug in a bunch of limbs from the swamp side and tied them off under a tree. Nice little set-up, except when you are jiggin' deep for white perch

was there Saturday at a camp on the mouth of Cancienne Canal, SE part of lake. We caught 20+ perfect sized channel cats on worms up in the trees, with zero effort. Plus i didn't have to clean them. Bonus!
