If I were the AD, my rule about mid major coaches would be that they must be the architect of a consistent program on an NCAA tourney level.
Mark Few fits this criteria. Shaka followed the best coach in VCU history. He's only been there 2 years if I'm not mistaken.
Hes proven he can coach. His talent evaluation skills and recruiting skills are largely unknowns, which wouldn't compel me to pay him what he wants to leave VCU. I wouldn't have a problem with him at 1.5-2 million. He will probably want more though.

I disagree. I'm all about an up and comer young name with a high ceiling and some risk associated. Prohm, Pastner, Smart, etc. all fit the bill of guys that would be attainable (maybe not Pastner or Smart) that could be huge successes here.
