How can you make one album, much less 4 or 5 and they all sound the same? If there is one thing The Beatles did do was grow and change as a band through their albums. Nickelback is a classic example of a rock band who does absolutely nothing but the bare minimum and gets away with it. It's lazy and pathetic.
