My turn:
Well if he knew what clue(s) he was gonna leave for Red to find him, he'd obviously know what he was gonna bury there. The first part of your question doesn't make sense. Secondly, he knew the spot, so the rock could've been there or he could've easily placed it there after he got out.
It wasn't signed by anyone...it was a random post card. So even if they noticed it, it wouldn't really mean much.
After ~18 years? Nobody would've recognized him most likely, and he had already gotten the money by the time the news was breaking.
Wouldn't matter and a trial was unnecessary...he was already abroad and getting busy living (that's goddamned right).
He wasn't chipping at it like at hard rocks with a pin and hammer. He was basically carving the soft rock.
Why keep it? They knew it was him that escaped...it's not like the "evidence" is gonna connect him to anything (he already was). Might as well leave everything from that life behind and move onto his new life.
Apparently not...they showed him giving multiple forms of ID to the banks and whatnot.

-How did Andy know in advance what he was going to bury under the tree and that there was a black igneous rock there?

-Why didn't the new warden review any mail coming to Red as a possible clue of Andy's whereabouts?
They would have seen the postcard sent to Red.

-Why didn't any of the Portland banks that Andy visited to close accounts have an idea at least of Andy's physical description, since he was VP of a Portland bank when he was arrested?

-Wouldn't there have been an investigation that followed that would have exonerated Andy? Since the newspapers believed him when he wrote of Fatass and Tommy's murders, wouldn't they have believed about Elmo Blatch?
Wouldn't matter and a trial was unnecessary...he was already abroad and getting busy living (that's goddamned right).

-How did the adjacent cells not hear Andy at night chipping away at his wall with the rock hammer?

-Why would he leave his clothes and the rock hammer in the ditch as evidence? I would
have kept the rock hammer as a treasured keepsake.
Why keep it? They knew it was him that escaped...it's not like the "evidence" is gonna connect him to anything (he already was). Might as well leave everything from that life behind and move onto his new life.

-Did Maine banks not require a picture ID to withdraw funds?
Apparently not...they showed him giving multiple forms of ID to the banks and whatnot.
