The mouth of Raccourci is one of the most popular spots in Mechant. Most people are fishing specs there. They aren't fishing the deep water, but the flats around it. The most popular method is tightlining Bayou Chub Minnows in Purple/Chartruese (Go Tigers!) or Avacado/Red Flake. Speckulizers are also popular if you prefer fishing under a cork. Troll the banks focusing on cuts, and the mouths of bayous, etc for specs and reds... If you can find them, Lo Deuce (Little Duece) and Deer Bayou are popular spots also. There is allegedly a sand bar in Mechant that holds a lot of trout, but I don't know where the hell it is. On the sister lake side, there are more oyster reefs that people focus on, but the methods are the same.
