i been wondering what would be the best way to utilize the 2 picks to make our team most competive. i think if we can get mkg and jared sulligner that would be great what you think?
potential line up
pg. jack/gv
SG eg/ah
sf. mkg/ariza
pf. sulligner.smith.ayon
C. kamen/smith/?
this would be a pretty good line up

been a million threads like this...i don't think i like mkg...I don't want to take either sullinger or mkg with our first pick, and i think they may both be gone by our second pick.
...i would like to get davis/robinson and then Zeller/Zeller/Lillard/Marshall

I think you may have to stay away from Beal, unfortunately, and Lamb. But you go BPA with both picks.

sulliginger might slip but i think either harrison barnes or mkg with first picks and with rivers marshall and lillard in draft one should be there with second pick. but i think our guards our set with jack henry vasiquez and gordan

i really don't want Barnes with our first pick...doesn't impress me.
mkg just can't score...would take him later but not with top 3 pick

Depends on where we draft. I also don't like this draft at the top, but I love this draft in the late 1st round and the early 2nd round.
Assuming one of the picks is in the top 5, my rankings would be:
1. Anthony Davis
2. Arnett Moultrie
3. Jeremy Lamb
4. Bradley Beal
5. MKG
Beal is really growing on me. I'm not in love with MKG, but I don't see ANY downside to drafting him. At worst he's a poor man's Ron Artest.
I love Jeremy Lamb. He has every offensive skill an NBA 2 guard needs. He just can be a head case. I almost put Beal above Lamb just because of Lamb's attitude.
I also love Moultrie. I know I have him slotted higher than a lot of players, but he's the second best big man in the draft, and honestly, I'm not sure he's not the most complete big man in the draft. He was playing in a shite-storm this year at State, but he's 6'11, and offensively, he's more advanced than Davis, and he's not too far behind Davis defensively. He'll be an all-star.
Based on my rankings, I think Moultrie is realistic.
With the second pick in the first round, I love Royce White. He has an extremely high basketball IQ, and he's one of the most versatile players in this draft. He reminds me a lot of Derrick Williams from last year, except White is more of a point forward and Williams was more of a scorer.
In the second round, I'd do whatever it takes to draft Doron Lamb. He will score 18 PPG off of the bench for someone, and if he can learn to play point guard, he can be THE steal of this draft. He's the most natural scorer in this draft without question.
Lineup
PG: Jack/GV/Lamb
SG: Gordon/Lamb
SF: Ariza/White
PF: Moultrie/Smith
C: Kaman/Smith
Players to avoid:
1. Harrison Barnes: The biggest bust waiting to happen in this draft.
2. Drummond: Seriously? This guy reminds me of Deandre Jordan more than anyone else. Not worth a top 10 pick. Might take a chance on him after that.
3. Austin Rivers: Why draft Rivers when you can get a much better player who'll fill the same role with Doron Lamb later in the draft?
4. Kendall Marshall: Too slow. Not much of an offensive threat. Only thrives because of the UNC run-and-gun system.
5. John Henson: He's terrible. He's tall, skinny, and can block shots. That's it. He'll be out of the league faster than Branden Wright who played for UNC.
Assuming one of the picks is in the top 5, my rankings would be:
1. Anthony Davis

i agree with tuptiger with players to avoid. im just sold on mkg with first pick. he can play defense score when he needs too.but we really dont need another big time scorer with gordon and kamen with the second i say best big man available perry jones or jared sulliginer ones gone be there. i say this because there only 5 teams thats may pick before out second pick that needs big man and there about 7 or 8 legit big man

Your under rating Marshall.

Completely agree with tuptiger except for two things:
1.) he overrated Moultrie. ALOT. Dude is pretty good, but I wouldn't even come close to picking him with a top ten pick.
2.) Harrison Barnes (IMO) is a very safe pick. I mean, how many times have there been SF's with a beautiful shot that havn't amounted to something? They may not end up stars like many project Barnes to be, but they generally are solid starters, plus Barnes is solid at every other aspect of his game too.

How does Jared Sullinger compare to DeAndre Jordan? Their games are the complete opposite. And it's laughable you have Moultrie over guys like TRob,Sullinger,Jones, and Zeller.

Sullinger has bust written all over him.

This is where we disagree. Barnes is the prototype. However, every time I've watched him play, I come away totally unimpressed with him. I think my reserve surrounding him comes from the fact that I'm leery of his ball-handling skills. I think they are non-existent.
Also, I know several of you are thinking I'm overrating Moultrie. What other 6'11, athletic post player in this draft shot 55% from the field, 40% from three point range, 78% from the line, averaged 16PPG and 10.6 RPG?
Everyone is totally missing on Moultrie IMO. I watched him play at least 10 times this year, and he's the second best player in the draft IMO. Frankly, he's a safer pick than Davis to me. You won't have to wait for any post moves to develop. He already has them.
The ONLY reason he's not considered a consensus top 10 pick is because of the situation he played in this year. It was a mess under Stansbury.
On Sullinger, I think he's a safe pick. He's a below the rim player. Reminds me of a slightly taller, better version of Big Baby. He would be in my top 10 players. Won't be a star, but he will play a long time.
On Robinson, he would be my number 6 draft prospect. I like him. I just like him less than the other players in the top 5.
I'll bump this thread when Moultrie is balling next year. Some team is going to get a steal.

Are you kidding me? Jones? Zeller? Sullinger? I can at least see Thomas Robinson, even though I disagree, but the other three are not even close to Moultrie.
The very fact that you put Jones, a 6'8 SF who can't shoot or dribble, on that list is laughable.

once again MKG and the best post player avaible barnes wont help us at all. mkg can play defense and score 15 points a game.if we can get him and any big man beside zeller ill be happy.

This has to be a joke. If Moultrie was so good they would be in the tournament. Cody Zeller came in and led Indiana to the tourney, where is MSU? Ohio State will play for the national championship because of Jared Sullinger, again where is MSU? Thomas Robinson and Perry Jones have both led their teams to the elite 8, again where is Arnett Moultrie. He couldnt even lead his team to the tourney playing in the mediocre SEC. TRob and Sullinger are both better basketball players right now and Jones and Zeller have much more potential.

Didnt realize Perry Jones couldnt shoot, dribble or was even 6'8 but okay.

Thought you were referencing Terrance Jones. Perry Jones is an Anthony Randolph clone.
Your logic is absurd regarding the NCAA tournament and players relative draft positions.
I'm not going to get into it, but more power to you if you want draft players who seemingly led their teams to the NCAA tournament over players whose teams didn't make the tournament.

You cant get into because you have no argument. Put Robinson or Sullinger on MSU instead of Moultrie and they are still playing this weekend. That's because they are better players. Moultrie is taller than them and thats it. Im not calling Moultrie a scrub, but to say these players are not even in the same league as him is laughable.

Perry J is got Randolph written all over him.

I want T Rob or Davis with our pick and then I definitely want one of the Zellers with Minnesota's. The UNC Zeller had a 20-22 game and the Indiana Zeller had a 20-7 game going up against Davis. I REALLY want one of those two after watching them last night, maybe even as much as I want our own pick's player.

Given the Hornets biggest needs (SF and PF), this would be my top 5.
1. H. Barnes- a prototype SF and could be a star.
2. J. Sullinger- Just solid and totally underrated.
3. A. Davis- Could be great or just good (undefined).
4. T. Robinson- Actually got compared to JJ Hickson (?).
5. MKG- Awesome athlete, might be a SG though..
My dream draft they grab Barnes and Sullinger. I figure Okafor or Kaman will man Center. Gordon comes back strong and Jack is a decent PG. It's an alright group. Just need to settle the Center position.
