I would call Billy the Exterminator and his magic powder/spray/smoke stuff.
I used to have the things all over my yard in La, and there isn't much you can do but start to kill them once you see them. It's a maintenance issue and you have to be vigilant in keeping the bastards out, or they seem to attract more. Not much you can do to prevent them from showing up

I was afraid of this. But I do get all excited after I've gone on a killing spree and wiped out like 10 at a time. I get all pumped up and my adrenaline kicks in.
I'll also try spraying where they normally nest.
