No sound when I hook up the PS3 using HDMI

I can stream Netflix and watch blu ray discs and hear everything fine...but when I go to play a game, the sound goes out. Any ideas on solving this problem? Has it happened to you?

try messing with the sound settings under setting?

there is a setting I read about on the ps3 about dynamic audio or something like that, it was screwing up the ps3 ability to work with an Onkyo surround system. Check that out, it may need to be turned off.
