I ordered a patch off ebay just like that tiger head and put it on a jacket I owned. The seller said it was a logo from a military unit but I can't remember which one.

That tiger was used everywhere in the 70's. It's not LSU and no we don't own it. That's why we changed logos in the first place-to make money off of a trademarked logo.
