quote:

"Our mentality is that we’re ready to strap it up and get back on the field and get going," said Mettenberger, who takes over as the Tigers' starting quarterback. "People are still talking about that game. It’s been two months now ... but it bothers us that people still want to talk about that game. We just want to move on and get ready for spring ball and roll into the season with a positive mentality to get after it this year."

quote:

"I’m definitely confident in my ability to throw and feel like I can throw with the best of them," Mettenberger said. "I just have to keep working and get to where I know the offense like Peyton Manning and get on the Tom Brady level. Minimizing mistakes will be a key for us this year to get back to the national championship game."

I'd be comfortable with that.

There is a lot of potential to tap with Mett as your QB.

It will be interesting to watch y'alls offense develop.

I heard what he really said was, "Practice? You talking about practice? Not a game, not a game, not a game, but practice?"

Good. I hope people keep talking about the game. I hope the players are pissed off and get more pissed every time they hear about that game. It gives them something to rally around the entire offseason. I want LSU 12 to equal Miami 01.

Les should have kicked jj off the team to set example, played Lee with Mett getting reps and experience.

Hindsight I know, but the table was set for that to happen. If it did, the worst case would be you loose to us the 1st game and end the year ranked #2 on a long win streak with a seasoned QB to start this year.

no guarantee Les would've done this. witness the Ole Miss scrimmage where we were up big about 5 mins in, and only threw the ball 8 times. none of which were by Mett. or the other blowout games the last few yrs where we coulda gotten the QBs much-needed reps. Les has no use for such.
