What???
So does ESPN try to say that EVERONE that retires is a Hall of Famer?

I NEVER ever considered him a HOFer while he was playing....just a good player.

If you arent even in the Top 10 players at your position WHILE you were playing....how are you a HOF????

God I hate ESPN. I guess Lin and Tebow are already a HOFers too?

There needs to be competition with ESPN.

He is not a HOFer.

He was a good WR for a long time, but never anything special. I guess ESPN's next spin will be how many Super Bowl rings he has. They're a bunch of clowns, anyways.

Lulz at anyone trying to claim he isn't HOF worthy.

He gets in first ballot and rightfully so.

If Ward played for the Seahawks or Bucs with the same stats....we wouldnt discuss this.

Why cant CNN sports come back? I hate ESPN but there is no other option for highlights or updates. You have to fight thru this BS.

18th in Yards, 8th in catches and 1 of 8 with 1000+, 13th in TD's. On paper, he should get in.

If you have to think about it........that is a NO!

I use that for HOF talk all the time.

Or if you have to look up the stats....then NO again!

Both are awful arguments.

Not even close. Just look at all the trouble Cris Carter, Tim Brown, and Andre Reed are having getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. All of those players were far better than Ward.

All three of those should be in. But Ward may get in after a few years JUST cause he played for the Steelers. I will say this. He was one of the best blocking WR's in history.

Until they stopping putting a quota of players in each year, if you have a decent career then you will get in. Only players that are worthy should get in, no this 7 every year garbage.

Look at the other WRs of his era. He isn't better than 5th out of that group.

Randy Moss
Terrell Owens
Marvin Harrison
Isaac Bruce
Torry Holt
Reggie Wayne
Chad Ochocinco
Derrick Mason

The Pro Football Hall of Fame inducts approx 4 players per year. If he is in the top 3 of the list of players retiring that/this year, then he will eventually get in.
