I've been trying wrap my mind around the casinos impact on real estate. I'm currently debating on whether it's worth buying a home near the casino (i personally love this house) and it's not really in the area that I love. I drove down Nicholson today and the drive is not that bad but getting back to the interstate was freaking awful!!! Some of you may have gone down Bayou Paul before? It's the last time I will ever attempt to take this road. Crazy curves, slow drivers (20 MPH Speed Limit), and the most depressing display of wealth inequality I have ever seen in my life. It literally got me sickseeing mansions literally in the same pasture as 30 year old, run down trailer homes. It was a non stop cycle all the way down Bayou Paul. Anyway, I love this house but the school district is terrible (Iberville). Probably going to pass but I do think this house can rent for a premium because its right next to the casino. If there is a real estate guru around I'd love to get some opinions on this house.
