I think the main issue with the guided missiles being too powerful comes from the PC side of the game. And this is where DICE has problems finding a balance between PC and console.
I would imagine trying to fly a heli on a 64 man server where you have 3-4 guys using SOFLAM, 6-8 guys using javelins and 2 tanks using CITV & guided missiles and not being able to avoid all of that AT ALL can be frustrating. But the problem is when patching for that scenario, you completely cripple the consoles because you never see that much anti air firepower on one team.

Well, to be fair, the battlelog patch list is for PC.
