When he wasn't the 1st option I did notice he wasn't making a full effort to run the route. When he was first, he did his job.
As many others have stated, he wasn't the first one to 'quit'... and in the end, what chance does the 2nd / 3rd reciever have when JJ is within 100 miles of a football game ?

I have wondered this for the last 3 years, and now with the 2012 recruiting class, it may be coming to pass.

But, how in the world does Les Miles recruit elite talent at the receiver position to LSU? We have totally underutilized the passing game, and just when the offensive production from all of our players started trending upwards, we ditched it all to put in another quarterback.

I don't blame Rueben Randle one bit.

Great understanding of football. Every player is first EVERY PLAY. And anyone with a bone of impartiality will recall Randle quitting on his route right before half @ Bama and thus not being in a position to catch the ball, only getting fingertips on it. Had he not quit (which he did because it looked like JJ was going to get sacked) he would have been in an easy clear position to catch a TD. Thanks for the three years, but you can't blame McShay for this.
