Flex fuel deduction rejected! On 2011 chevy crew!

Called for an update on my return with the state today. Was told my
Bill of sale was insufficient. Was also told flex fuel vehicles are not eligible . I jave an e85 flex fuel 2011z71
Shoudnt this be eligible?

Yes, should be eligible if it's E85. I would bite the bullet and consult with a tax professional for assistance if I were you. Depending on your line of work, these things get to be far more expensive if you pursue them personally.

I have a CPA license from another state. I am an internal auditor. They told me they go by the federal statutes. Said there was no state statute.

The lady on the phone said that they go by federal not state regulations and that only electric vehicles are eligible...

Where are the emission stds mentioned in that state reg?

Uh Oh - i already received my refund inclusive of the credit. Guess i better bank it and expect the state to ask for it back.

The rep said when my amendment went to the audit department it would be rejected. She said flex fuel vehicles are not recognized by louisiana. Only electric she said....
I have a CPA license from another state. I argued my point with her....

I've heard that the "turbo-tax" defense is not generally accepted by taxing authorties. Do you think they will accept the "tiger droppings defense"?

but...

since when has a governmental entity sent out written confirmation that they've accepted your tax credit request from your tax return?

I got an e-mail back from the state saying that E-85 vehicles were eligible and that to use 71F when claiming this credit.

Gave me a number and the persons name sending me the E-mail if I had any questions.

I had already sent in my state taxes, I am going to have to do an admendment.
