just canceled my cox digital cable, and ordered my Roku 2 XS, pretty pumped about getting it, already have netflix, and will be purchasing hulu plus when the roku arrives next week so i can keep up with current shows. also i have HBO Go already.

my question to the other people on here who have a roku and no cable is what are the other must have apps on the Roku 2 XS?

ETA: Besides the obvious SEC network app

You don't have HBO Go no more...it cancels when you cancel your cable subscription.

Ok, so where do all of the savings come in if you still have to have cable and pay for other subscriptions. I was getting excited over nothing.

well we were paying $120 a month for cable/internet.... now we will just be paying for internet, and then paying for netflix instant and hulu plus total of $17... its worth it to me

Since I don't have anyone to still HBO from then it will not work for me. Sounds like you also give up your local news channels. I wish we could just pick and choose our channels cafeteria style.

I was paying over $160/month for cox cable, 2 dvrs, and internet. internet was lowest tier.

canceled and returned cable boxes, and upped my internet to the 60mb for $60/month. Netflix and Hulu cost me less than $15/month. I save $85 per month and my internet is 6x faster than before as per speedtest.

I work a good bit and all i care about are having some shows to come home and occupy a little of my time. Dont care if its recent, or just restarting the original law and orders from beginning. Its perfect for me. If i start working anymore, i will drop the internet another tier as i would only need it for wifi for my phone.

It sound great, but how do you watch LSU games, local news, and HBO with out a subscription. I would love to dump cable if I could.

I haven't watched any news show since the market crash in 2008. I don't care what happens in the world.

Hbo is only good in waves. Would never pay for that again.

Lsu is on espn3, I have season tickets, and I go to friends houses to watch the rest.
