Leaving N.O., going through Ponchatoula on the way to BR. Where should we stop for lunch?

Friend recommended Middendorfs. Opinions?

Middendorf's is a damn fine place to stop and eat. It will be right on I-55 at the Manchac exit. You can't go wrong with this choice in this particular spot.
However, you could go 10 or so miles north, take the University Ave exit and end up at the Johnny's Pizza in Hammond, if you need an orgasmic experience today.

If you have never been there, it's worth stopping at. They are known for their crispy thin strip catfish.

Middendorf's or Rockefeller's. Johnny's Pizza is, well, pizza.

I will go back though.
Since they have internet, I am able to work while I'm there. At that location, it's always a decision between Johnny's and Phil's, just around the corner.
