Absolutely. If you look across the board last year (not just the Alabama thing) but at seedings and who else got in or got left out, RPI was the only thing they looked at.

RPI will matter for sure. Do note that the SEC is a much improved conference this year. You have a ton of returning talent (UK, Vandy, Florida), and much strong strength of schedules out of conferece to bump collective RPI's. Bama's 12-4 is not a valid reference point to this year's SEC. 10-6 in the SEC this year means a lot more than the past 2/3 years.
